Class Terms and Conditions
Tuition, Fees, & Refunds
Please refer to class listings for tuition and fees. Unless otherwise noted, fees for adult classes include instruction, a bag of clay, basic glaze materials, and a firing allowance. Tuition is non-transferable and for the term dates outlined in the class listing. Makeup sessions are not available for missed classes. Some students may incur additional expenses if they choose unusual glaze materials or if their work occupies a large volume of kiln space. Tool kits and additional clay are available for purchase.
Due to the high demand for classes, we require full payment with your registration to reserve your spot in class.
If there is insufficient enrolment, we will cancel the class, notify registered students, and refund all payments without penalty. Decisions are made approximately one week before classes begin. Please register early or you might find that your class is full, or canceled because of low enrolment.
A full refund (minus a $25 administration fee) will be given if you cancel 3 weeks prior to the class starting.
A 50% refund will be given if you cancel 2 weeks prior to a class starting.
No refund will be given if your cancellation occurs within 2 weeks of the class starting date.
*All refunds will incur a 2.9% Stripe processing fee.
Minimum Age Restrictions
Unless specifically arranged with Victoria only students ages 18 and up are eligible to register for Cromwell Pottery Classes adult courses.
Health and Safety
Students use the studio at their own risk and must be aware of the inherent hazards of a working pottery studio environment. These risks include the use of sharp tools, exposure to chemicals and high temperatures amongst other things.
All students should wear appropriate clothing and comfortable, flat shoes with non-slip soles and covered toes. Casual clothing is recommended. Long hair must be tied back for wheel work and jewellery and watches are best left at home. Please note that we are not liable for any damage that occurs to clothing or loss of valuables.
All of our students will receive a short briefing on health and safety before commencing their session.
We may refuse to fire work if we consider that this would be a risk to other work and/or our kilns. We do not offer a firing service for work produced outside of class time.
There will be a collection day arranged for completed work after your class has ended. If you are unavailable at the arranged time please contact Victoria (firstname.lastname@example.org) to arrange collection. Work left more than 4 weeks after the collection date will be discarded. If you cannot pick up your work, please make arrangements for someone else to pick it up.
*Please Note: Due to the very nature of clay and the firing process, we cannot be responsible for any damage to work caused by poor construction or the firing or glazing processes.
If a class is paid for and interrupted due to COVID19 restrictions, we will reschedule these classes at the earliest possible date. Refunds are not offered for these classes, however, we will do our best to accommodate all.
